Carlyle goes 4-for-5, Americans Move to 18-10 | The Boston Americans reigned over the Detroit Tigers in damp conditions.
The Boston Americans thumped the Detroit Tigers, 8-2, at Bennett Park. Roy Carlyle was a big reason his team got the win. Carlyle went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Boston goes to 18-10 with the win.
Boston used a well-timed hit by Jeimer Candelario to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Americans ahead, 4-1. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"We were firing on all cylinders today," said Americans manager Timothy Keene. | | | | |
