Chicago Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win | The Chicago White Sox got a stellar performance from pitcher Bill Hawke, who handcuffed the Boston offense en route to a win, 3-2, at Comiskey Park. Hawke went the distance for Chicago. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. Boston falls to 18-12.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Chicago trailing 2-0, Edwin Encarnacion hit a screwball from Nels Potter for a 3-run home run, giving the White Sox the walk-off win.
"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Encarnacion said. | | | | |
