| Pineda Shackles Boston Monday, September 19th , 1910 Michael Pineda of the New York Yankees was masterful today, pitching a 3-hit shutout, 7-0, against the Boston Americans.
By going the distance, he was at the same time able to give his bullpen a rest, a fact appreciated by New York manager Dan Goodman.
"It's nice to have someone who can do that from time to time," he said. "He had command of every ball and every pitch. Great location, too."
Pineda had 10 strikeouts and 2 walks in the outing.
In 20 starts this season Pineda has rung up a 9-9 record and a 3.19 ERA.
