Orioles Stay Hot, Beat White Sox, 3-2 | The Baltimore Orioles and Chicago White Sox played an exciting game.
The Baltimore Orioles did just enough to secure a victory over the Chicago White Sox, 3-2, at Memorial Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Jack Kramer. In 7.1 innings, Kramer surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. Gregg Olson got credit for the save for Baltimore. It was his 2nd of the year.
Brooks Robinson had a nice at-bat for the Orioles with one out in the bottom of the sixth. With runners on 1st and 3rd, the third baseman hit a sacrifice fly, which would prove important in the Baltimore win.
"Jack was pounding the zone," said Baltimore manager Matt Reynolds.
The Orioles raised their record to 5-1. | | | | |
