| On Road, Boston Beats New York, 6-3 | With left fielder Kyle Schwarber leading the charge, the Boston Americans defeated the New York Yankees, 6-3, at Yankee Stadium. Schwarber, who finished 2nd in the NL in slugging percentage with .501 in 1907, was 2-3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. The winner was Carl Mays, who threw 95 pitches over 6.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 6 hits. The Americans sit in third place in the AL with a record of 31-32.
With Boston leading 3-0 in the top of the sixth, Schwarber hit a fastball from Bob Grim for a 3-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Americans ahead, 6-0.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Schwarber.
