Blues Win Thriller, 5-4
The Cleveland Blues defeated the Boston Americans, 5-4, in AL action at Progressive Field. Cleveland pitcher Oral Hildebrand had a standout performance. The win has Cleveland at 29-53.

A crucial at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd and no one out in the bottom of the sixth inning. That's when designated hitter Ted Savage, who is tied for 2nd in the AL in bases on balls with 47, hit a 2-run single. The Blues went on to win.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Boston manager Timothy Keene. "But we decided not to take it."
