Welmaker Cruises to Shutout | Roy Welmaker was in a mood to talk following the Chicago Cubs contest against the New York Giants, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Giants, 3-0.
"There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Welmaker said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again."
The left-hander blanked New York on a 3-hitter, allowing 2 walks and racking up 7 strikeouts.
