Injury Brings Season to End for Schmidt Saturday, September 17th , 1910 Mike Schmidt had to wait several agonizing days to find out his diagnosis after suffering bone marrow edema in his wrist on 09/16/1910. Today he received word from the Philadelphia doctor that he would be out the rest of the year. Team officials called it a huge setback but something they would have to overcome.
Currently Schmidt has 25 home runs and a .255 batting average.
