| Cincinnati Win League Championship Series Thursday, September 29th , 1910 The League Championship Series may not have lived up to the expectation that it would be a dogfight that would go the distance. The Cincinnati Redlegs, however, are not complaining.
The Redlegs were plenty happy to have wrapped up the series early and to have knocked out the Chicago Cubs to advance to the World Series.
Cincinnati won the final game by a 8-3 count at Crosley Field and the series 4-1.
Redlegs left fielder Bryce Harper was named series MVP, as he hit .444 with a .524 on-base percentage. He added 2 home runs, drove in 7 RBI and scored 2 runs.
"It's not going to be the last time Chicago makes it to the playoffs, so it's sure a nice feeling to put them out this year," Harper said. "We just need to keep this going and take it day by day."
The Cincinnati Redlegs don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Baltimore Orioles - Philadelphia Athletics series. Baltimore leads the series 3 games to 2. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
