Yankees Down Americans, 4-3 | The New York Yankees racked up a win at Yankee Stadium, bumping off the Boston Americans, 4-3. Ray Keating, who started for New York, pitched effectively for his team. The loss makes Boston 61-67.
Travis d'Arnaud went 2 for 3 with a double and was hit by a pitch for New York. The 33-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch off Johnny Taylor. It was his 24th RBI of the season.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Boston manager Timothy Keene, "let me know." | | | | |
