Blues Score Late to Upend Twins, 6-4 | The Minnesota Twins got a superb performance from pitcher Steve Renko. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Cleveland. The Blues won the game, 6-4. Renko threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Marty Bystrom, who went 8 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 10 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 6. His record now stands at 4-5. Irv Young finished the game for Cleveland and earned his 8th save.
Asdrubal Cabrera, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1901 draft, aided the Cleveland cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the shortstop went 1 for 2.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Cabrera said after the game.
