White Sox Turn Back Cleveland, 2-1 | The Chicago White Sox picked up a win at Progressive Field, knocking off the Cleveland Blues, 2-1. On the mound for Chicago was right-hander Bill Hawke, who played a pivotal role in the win. Hawke went 8.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 9 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 4-3. Bud Norris earned the save for Chicago, his 6th of the year.
Aaron Rowand contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the sixth. With a runner on 1st, he hit a double. It was one at-bat that helped Chicago get the win.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Chicago skipper Jimmy Dykes.
