Athletics Fall, 12-4, to Peitz, Tigers | The home crowd had a good time watching the Philadelphia Athletics and Detroit Tigers get after it.
Detroit catcher Heinie Peitz had a 3-RBI performance, which helped his team down the Philadelphia Athletics, 12-4. Anibal Sanchez, the winner, improved to 6-4. He held Philadelphia to 4 runs on 6 hits over 7 innings, while racking up 9 strikeouts.
Peitz came through for Detroit with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third. He hit a 0-1 fastball to center field, staking his team to a 4-3 lead.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Detroit skipper David Mollicone.
