Blues Stay Hot, Beat White Sox, 4-3 | Cleveland picked up a win at Progressive Field, toppling the Chicago White Sox, 4-3. Pitcher Marty Bystrom was one of the reasons the Blues triumphed. Earning the save was Irv Young. He's now cashed in 13 of 16 save opportunities. The wins continue to add up for Cleveland, with the latest making it 7 in a row.
Ted Savage went 1 for 3 with a walk for Cleveland. The 34-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off Andy Cooper. It was his 52nd walk of the season.
"I was a little disappointed," said Chicago manager Jimmy Dykes. "We could've and should've scored more runs." | | | | |
