Dowling Skunks Yankees | Pete Dowling was in a zone of his own most of the day, shutting out the New York Yankees on 4 hits.
"He was too darn good for us today," grumbled New York manager Dan Goodman after the 6-0 loss to the Minnesota Twins.
Dowling finished with 10 strikeouts and 4 walks in a strong outing.
In the postgame press conference, Minnesota manager Jeff Patterson said Dowling "had good velocity, good movement and had those guys off balance. He just pitched his butt off."
This year Dowling has fanned 117 in 158.1 innings and collected a 9-5 record with a 3.69 ERA. | | | | |
