Baltimore starter Dave McNally pitched effectively against the Chicago White Sox at Comiskey Park. The left-hander led his team to a win, 4-1. The winning pitcher was McNally, now 3-5. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 5.
It could have been a different outcome for Baltimore, had it not been for Carlos Baerga, the 21-year old second baseman . Baerga contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put Baltimore up, 3-0.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Chicago manager Jimmy Dykes.
