Blues Lose, 6-5 | The Baltimore Orioles defeated the Cleveland Blues, 6-5. Doing his part was first baseman Alvin Davis, who was 2-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Baltimore reliever Ned Garver picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Marty Bystrom was tagged with the loss. Baltimore is now 14-17. Cleveland is 7-25.
Davis had a timely hit for Baltimore in the top of the seventh. With Cleveland trailing 5-4, he turned a 1-1 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season, making it 6-5, Baltimore.
