| Orioles Handle Americans, 5-2 | The Baltimore Orioles got a strong performance from pitcher Mike Cuellar, who stymied the Boston offense en route to a win, 5-2, at Memorial Stadium. In 8 innings, Cuellar surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. The Orioles go to 17-20, putting them 4th in the AL.
The Orioles got a big at-bat from third baseman Brooks Robinson. For the game, Robinson went 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 6th double of the season gave Baltimore a 3-1 lead.
