Giants Beat Dodgers, 4-2 | The New York Giants picked up a win at Candlestick Park, knocking off the Los Angeles Dodgers, 4-2. Starting pitcher Speed Martin was a big reason why. New York is now 78-71.
Bob Watson drew 2 walk in 4 trips to the plate for New York. The 32-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off Clem Labine. It was his 19th walk of the season.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Watson told the New York Times. | | | | |
