White Sox Knock Off Orioles, 6-5 | The Chicago White Sox had to overcome a big game from Baltimore second baseman Carlos Baerga to leave Memorial Stadium with a victory. And they did, winning 6-5. Baerga went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Chicago reliever George Suggs picked up the win, upping his record to 4-4. Dave McNally took the loss. Bud Norris picked up the save for Chicago, his 19th of the year.
Billy Sullivan provided a timely hit. The Chicago catcher delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the White Sox on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"Good win for us," said Sullivan. "We'll strap it on and go after the next one."
Chicago is now 68-85, Baltimore 80-73. | | | | |
