Behind Pineda, Yankees Beat Blues, 6-1 | New York and Cleveland took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
Pitcher Michael Pineda was sensational for the New York Yankees in his team's 6-1 triumph over the Cleveland Blues. Pineda picked up the win, and it was well-earned. The loss makes Cleveland 53-68.
Pineda ran roughshod over the Cleveland lineup. The right-hander allowed just 4 hits over 9 innings, while striking out 8. With the victory, he goes to 7-6 on the season.
"Michael was pounding the zone," said New York manager Dan Goodman. | | | | |
