Almost There: Baltimore On Cusp of LCS Triumph After 4-3 Win | When the games really matter, the Baltimore Orioles put on their best show, beating the Philadelphia Athletics by a final score of 4-3 today. Lefty Grove threw 8.0 innings allowing 2 runs. Baltimore now leads Philadelphia 3-1 in the best-of-7 affair.
Randy Arozarena was the walk-off hero for Baltimore. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Orioles right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
Athletics manager Charles Wolfson did not take questions after the game, telling assembled reporters that he would hold a press conference "if and when we win the World Series."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Memorial Stadium in Baltimore. | | | | |
