Arozarena, Orioles Sink Athletics Again in Game 2 | Riding the 3-hit performance of right fielder Randy Arozarena, the Baltimore Orioles got a road win against the Philadelphia Athletics, 8-6, in Game 2 of the League Championship Series today. Arozarena was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Orioles, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0.
Baltimore used the timely hitting of Carl Crawford to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Orioles on top, 8-6. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"It's a gut punch," Athletics manager Charles Wolfson said, "to get here and find ourselves down 0-2 in the blink of an eye."
Game 3 is scheduled for Tuesday at Memorial Stadium in Baltimore. | | | | |
