Gurriel goes 4-for-5 in Blues Win | A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Cleveland Blues and Philadelphia Athletics.
The Cleveland Blues stopped the Philadelphia Athletics, 10-4, at Progressive Field. The Blues got a big game from Yulieski Gurriel, who was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Luis Gonzalez got the win, improving to 13-10. He pitched 9 innings, giving up 6 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 2.
With Cleveland leading 2-1 in the bottom of the second, Gurriel hit a curveball from Rube Waddell for a 2-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Blues ahead, 4-1.
"I may have one foot in the grave," said Gurriel. "But I can still help this team win."
