Redlegs Run Win Streak to 6 | Cincinnati and Philadelphia played a hard-fought contest.
The Cincinnati Redlegs had to overcome a fine effort from Philadelphia pitcher Erskine Mayer to grab a narrow 3-1 win at Citizens Bank Park. Mayer went 9 innings and allowed 3 runs. Cardell Camper closed the game out for Cincinnati, earning his 7th save.
Cincinnati relied on the hitting of Sam Wise to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Redlegs on top, 2-0. For the game, Wise had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I believe in our guys," said Cincinnati skipper Jason Raven. "I like the energy they're playing with."
At 17-10, the Redlegs have played well so far. | | | | |
